Juicing is one of the healthiest and most rewarding things you can do for your overall health. I started juicing a few years ago after reading about a man who was almost dead and had an auto immune disorder. He stopped taking all of his medication that he was on for years (that was only making his symptoms worse) and started juicing nothing but fresh fruits and veggies every day. Within three months, he took care of his auto immune disorder and lost a bunch of weight – and by a bunch of weight, I mean close to 50 pounds! Juicing truly changed his life. He had one foot in the grave, and two months of nothing but juicing was able to restore his life. Now he is active and an inspiration to everyone who is unhealthy and obese. His name was Joe, and the documentary was called “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead.” It is one of the most inspirational health documentaries you will ever see and it made me a believer on the incredible effects of juicing.
Many people in our society consume too many calories per day, but they are actually nutrient-starving! Consuming tons of empty calories like those in cheeseburgers, fries, processed foods, fried foods, and dairy gives you hardly any nutritional value; this is the easiest way to become obese, unhealthy, lethargic, and miserable. The beauty of juicing is that you can consume up to six servings of fresh fruits and veggies in a single glass; you don’t have to sit there and eat plate after plate of apples, broccoli, and carrots. Juicing extracts the vital nutrients and gives you a taste of the pure vitamins and nutrients that your body needs to operate at its peak efficiency. Moreover, juicing is one of the best ways to lose weight. Fresh vegetable and fruit juice is extremely low in calories, and the calories that you do consume with juicing are quality calories that your body needs. Juicing is also provides lots of fiber, and will help to flush out excess toxins from your body. Juicing is the best all-around way to heal yourself from within.
So what has my experience been with juicing? I can’t say I have ever been overweight or that I suffer from a disease, but I do believe that juicing should be a crucial part of everyone’s diet. The most important reason that juicing should be in your diet is because it turns your body into a disease-fighting machine. Most people assume that they can just take a vitamin and ward off every disease known to mankind. That is about the farthest thing from the truth! Juicing fresh fruits and veggies is the best way to get all of your vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Drinking fresh juice daily is your best defense against life threatening diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and obesity. Another one of my favorite benefits to juicing is the increase in energy levels. I could not believe how much more energy I had when I started juicing. To say that I am a fan of juicing is an understatement.
The beauty of the juicer is that it allows you to get really creative and you can experiment with different combinations. Pick out some of your favorite fresh fruits and veggies and start experimenting for yourself – your long term health will thank you! Some of my favorite fruits and veggies to juice are apples, carrots, spinach, beet, grapefruit, grapes, oranges, watermelon, and pineapple.
Here’s a summary of the incredible health benefits of juicing:
- Weight loss
- Decreased risk of Disease
- Helps prevent Obesity
- Increased circulatory and blood flow
- Improved appearance of hair and skin
- Helps prevent many Cancers
- Increased energy levels
This list could go on and on! Try juicing a few of your favorite fruits and veggies daily and reap the amazing health benefits for yourself!

Definitely increases energy levels.
I have 2 problems with juicing: 1) too much sugar if you aren't careful and 2) no fiber / fat. I've been stirring in chia seeds with most of my juices (especially the sugary fruity ones with hopes that the fiber counteracts some of that sugar). I'm thinking that the chia will help me absorb some of the fat-soluble vitamins in the juice.
But yes, overall it's a great thing, and I really enjoy the convenience of it. Typically I supplement with a protein shake on days that I work out.
That's why I make sure to have a Green Juice A Day.
