Besides all the delicious foods we enjoy around the holidays, many of us also like to sip on tasty holiday beverages. While we should be drinking tons of water to help us digest all those treats we are eating, it’s fun (and can be healthy) to sip on something a little more festive, which is why I’ve got a few healthy holiday beverages for you today!
To start off your day, sip on this delicious gingerbread smoothie that will keep you feeling satisfied throughout the morning. Not only will it fill you up, but the cultured Greek yogurt and the ginger will help aid in digestion too!
Gingerbread Protein Smoothie
- 1 Scoop Fitmixer Vanilla Protein Powder
- 1/2 Frozen banana
- 1/4 cup Non-fat Greek Yogurt
- 3-4 Ice cubes
- 2 tbsp. Old Fashioned Oats
- 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. Nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. Grated fresh ginger or 1/2 tsp. Ginger powder
- 1 cup Unsweetened Vanilla Almond milk, soy milk or low fat milk
- Pinch of Xanthan gum (optional to thicken if wanted)
Blend all ingredients together and enjoy! If you’re like me and you would rather eat your smoothie out of a bowl instead of drink it, adding xanthum gum will thicken it up. I like to top mine with a little crushed graham crackers for an added crunch

After you’ve enjoyed your smoothie, opened gifts, and visited with family, you might be in need of a little energy boost. What better way than with a nutritious drink made out of coconut water and Fitmixer Amino. Both of which are very good for you! Coconut water provides your body with potassium and electrolytes that help you recover and hydrate after exercise. Fitmixer Amino not only tastes delicious, but it also has essential nutrients to give you energy whenever you need it! Amino also has tri-flow, which is a blend of ingredients shown to increase Nitric Oxide, therefore reducing fatigue and speeding up recovery. I personally love both of these beverages and notice a huge difference in my energy, stamina and recovery. Since I love them so much, I thought it would be fun to create a holiday beverage using both ingredients. What I came up with is simple, tasty, and healthy for you!
Energizing Holiday Mocktail (Or cocktail!)
- 1 tsp Fitmixer Fruit Punch Aminos
- 4 ounces of coconut water
- 4 ounces of club soda
- Fresh mint leaf
- (Optional) shot of vodka
- Pomegranate seeds to garnish
In a shaker, combine aminos, mint leaf, and coconut water. Shake with ice then add club soda and stir to combine. Strain into a chilled martini glass and enjoy! I also tried this with a little bit of vodka and it was pretty good!
