One of the most important things to remember when starting a workout plan, or reassessing your current workout, is to make sure you’re setting realistic goals. Setting short term, attainable goals help keep you motivated and on track. Maybe it’s to walk 5 miles in a week, go for a run every Saturday, increase your weight on the bench press, or hit the gym 3 days a week after work. When you reach each short term goal, it gives you encouragement to keep going and hit the next mile stone. If you are struggling to meet your goals, take a step back and re-evaluate. Often times, we have a plan that just doesn’t fit our lifestyle and it’s very discouraging when you feel like your goals are out of reach. Also, remember to reward yourself when you do reach your goals. You work hard and deserve this! You are worth it. Good Luck!

Just remember if you do reward yourself do it in a healthy way. I have found for me when I have been eating and exercising and my reward is a big piece of cake, or going to the fast food place I love and ordering the highest calorie item on the menu, I quickly fall back into the bad eating and not exercising routine. Just remember to try to keep it healthy.
That’s right. While you do deserve a tasty or fun reward, you shouldn’t let it have too big of a negative impact on your hard work. Thanks for the comment, Andy!
