Happy Friday, Participants!
It’s been one month since we started, which means WE ARE 1/3 DONE WITH BOOT CAMP!!! How do you feel?! Go treat yourself to some fun tonight as a reward for getting this far!
Have you seen the Boot Camp Participant Bios page yet? If you have not yet submitted your bio, we encourage that you do so as soon as possible so that your fellow Boot Campers can get to know you and support you through this journey!
With the submission of your bio, you should have or will shortly receive login info to fitmixer.com via email (please check your spam folder if you don’t see it in your inbox). If you don’t see it yet, don’t worry – setting up everyone’s login is a work in progress, so please check periodically.
When logged in, you will be able to write blog posts and leave comments as an author of fitmixer.com. We have already noticed how this has positively affected communication and motivation among participants, so please take advantage of your login if you haven’t already! (If you feel that you should have received a login by now, please contact me – Whitney – at whitney@fitmixer.com).
Speaking of, TONS of you have blogged within the past week! It has been SO GREAT to read about your goals and Boot Camp experiences! If you have spare time this weekend, I’m sure everyone would love it if you checked out and commented on their posts (see links below).
Lastly, if you find yourself wanting (or needing) a good workout over the weekend, Alicia suggests “yoga, hiking, bike riding, swimming, pilates, running outside, or walking the dogs.” Otherwise, we hope you all have a great, relaxing weekend.
See you on Monday!
Regarding last night’s (June 7) conference call…
We thought it might be cool to hear you guys talk about the conference call this time. We’d love for any of you to bring up any of the subjects Robin touched on last night and share your thoughts about them in the comments.

I missed the call because I am in Oregon! I would love to hear what you guys talked about.
Are we going to have a Utah field trip day soon?
I want to do a blog post next week about how you avoid snacking absent mindedly. If you have a tip to share, please send it to me! mealsandmoves@gmail.com
Looking forward to getting serious about things. I had a very indulgent birthday weekend (okay, week-long celebration) and now I am in Hood River, OR enjoying SO many good restaurants, breweries, and wineries.. I have definitely been gaining. But I also am not going to be a stick in the mud–trying these restaurants is a once in a lifetime chance for me and I am SUCH a foodie.. I am not going to beat myself up on Monday when I see the scale up again. It’s not a big deal considering how much living I have been doing and these next 8 weeks are going to rock
I DID still get my Zero to Thirty workout in today at the hotel! No excuses!
Love you all oxox
LOVE your outlook. You’re so right. Life is about having fun and enjoying the moment. I’m glad you had a great week-long bday and didn’t miss out on anything in Hood River! That’s what healthy living is about!
Since there didn’t seem to be many on the conference call last night I asked questions about some issues I am having. First, Robin talked about creating a vision of what wish we to become. She talked about staying in the moment which was helpful to me because I tend to get overwhelmed and then grab a handful of chocolate chips! Find joy in the moment no matter what you are doing! She talked about going with the flow (downstream) instead of fighting with ourselves to get upstream. Find joy, your passion, what you love and do that. Look at effort not achievement (thanks to the participant who contributing this idea). She also gave me advice about my scale addiction (or abusive relationship with the scale). It was so thought provoking and just what I needed to hear! I only wish I would have recorded it. My goal this week to find something I like about myself every day!
Cherlyn, I’m so happy you enjoyed the call and took away so much. I once had a scale addicion as well. It’s so freeing to just toss the scale!! The number means nothing. I haven’t weighed myself in years and it really has helped. If you need to take a different route instead of weighing yourself for the boot camp, let me know! I know how bad it can mess with your head!
Thanks for the recap!
Cherlyn, thank you for commenting. I’m on the east coast and tend to be asleep during the calls. I need to remember the “in the moment” and focus on my effort! Such good reminders. I had to laugh at the chocolate chips!! That was a habit of mine untill bootcamp! There wasno way I could still do that now that I’m paying to what I eat and tracking calories! I just went cold turkey. There is not a chocolate chip in my house…it’s the only way to go for me. If it was here, you can bet I’d eat it!
